Rhonda

I’d like to know your personal thoughts regarding what should happen next re the situation with Turkey. Netanyahu apologized supposedly with the plan being that the criminal charges against the commandos and high ranking IDF officials would be dropped. I’m sure you know the news that the charges won’t be dropped, they want $1,000,000 per family and the blockage lifted. In light of Erdogan playing games, trying to elevate himself in the eyes of the Arab world, what should Israel do?

What is your thinking regarding Abbas demanding a good will gesture from Israel before returning to the negotiating table? There has been so much going on over there every single day, I could ask you dozens of questions but I’ll leave it to these for now. As always, thank you for your time. Sincerely, Rhonda

Dear Rhonda,

I truly appreciate your care, intelligence and involvement. In my opinion, Erdogan is working on positioning himself in a prominent leadership position throughout the Islamic and Arab world. It doesn’t matter what ISRAEL will do or pay. Continuing to viciously and venomously attacking ISRAEL gains him more favor among his target audiences. In my personal opinion, ISRAEL should not offer any financial bribes it won’t help. As for Abu mazen he is well aware that the door for peaceful coexistence is wide open on the Israeli side. As soon as he establishes minimal control over his own people and chooses to enter the path for peace, he can do so.

Thanks for writing!
